Neil Gent, 2nd place at Wight Air 06

2xs team rider and Chichester resident Neil Gent competed at Wight Air 06 this weekend. Neil who sails and kites mainly at West Wittering is also no stranger to the Isle of Wight conditions and seized Compton Bay as his opportunity to shine in the UK RRD BKSA, Wave Masters. Pulling out an awesome display on the waves against both UK and international riders and brought home second place while event organiser Nigel Howell took first place. Spectators gathered along the cliff and beach at Compton to watch the kitesurfers compete for the Wave Masters title later moving on to Yaverland for a big air display.
Wight Air has been growing and growing each year and the ‘06 event on the last weekend of October made no exception attracting over 20,000 spectators to the island. With disciplines from all areas of extreme sports being added to the line up such as BMX, Mountain Boarding, Skate, Thundercats, Jet Ski, Gravity Racing, Duathlon, Land yachting, to name just a few, the festival weekend is drawing massive crowds and producing a great competition with big names in both amateur and professional fleets...
