The Witterings Charity Paddle Race 2012

The Wittering Charity Paddle Race 29th July 2012 2XS/X-Train, with Shore Surf Club are organising a charity paddle race to raise money for The Sussex Snowdrop Trust.

The annual charity race starts from Shore Road (on the beach at East Wittering), and ends at West Wittering Windsurf Club and competitors may use surfboards, SUPs or kayaks (prizes and medals for the winner of each category COMBINED with highest sponsorship money raised).

The Charity Paddle race has been running for more than 8 years and this years event includes a FREE event tee shirt , FREE BBQ,included in the entry fee of £15.00 we have safety cover on the water from PUMA safety (CDC),West Wittering Estate Lifeguards and West Wittering Windsurf Club.

This year there will be live music from the Chichester Music Academy from around 2pm who will have live acts playing while the BBQ is running at the finish line at West Wittering Estate.

We are hoping to raise lots of money for the Snowdrop Trust who care for terminally sick children and their families and we believe need all our support. If you want to come and watch the event West Wittering Beach will be the best place to watch the finalists –you have to pay the parking fees to the car park and it will be located close to the windsurf club when you come into the beach (West Wittering Estate/Beach,Pound Road ,West Wittering,P020 8AJ.)

We will be having a BBQ for non competitors and will be accepting donations for the BBQ and appreciation of the good music for the Snowdrop Trust.

The event starts Sunday 29th July 2012
Registration: 11.30am Beach front the end of Shore Road, East Wittering
The Race Starts at 1pm (should take 20-40 minutes)
Entry fee: £15 (plus minimum sponsorsip amount of £15)
Bring all sponsorship money to the event.
It will be held in shallow water, at low tide, in safe conditions and safety cover will be provided by West Wittering Windsurf Club, Puma Safety and West Wittering Estate.

All surfers & SUP’s must have a leash, and all kayakers must wear B/As.
Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.

The roads are going to be very busy this weekend so please be rthere earlry and the take the back roads into West Wittering avoid the main Chichester to West Wittering route.
