 Windsurfing Tuition
Windsurfing is now one of the easiest sports to learn. With super wide style boards and soft decks, balance is no longer the issue. Light weight rigs and carbon masts make lifting the sail out of the water weightless.
We expect you to be windsurfing in less than an hour (or else!). This is not a joke! We've watched people windsurf back and forth in under ten minutes! It's not the same sport as it was in the 80's, you'll find it a whole lot more fun and extremely exciting.
Our teaching techniques will deliver the results! So get yourself down to the beach and experience what this "new" sport can offer.

Learn to Windsurf - 5 Hours £120
If you have never stood on a windsurf board and want to learn, this course promises to get you windsurfing around with confidence using the latest beginners kit, best instruction available and the best windsurfing location in the UK!
The kit
To make life easy we teach you on the latest wide style windsurf boards
with super lightweight rigs. We also have miniature kids rigs
suitable for children ages 5+.
The myths
You don't need the muscles of Arnie or the balance of
a tight-rope walker to succeed in windsurfing!
Content
The course focuses on getting you going with as much time spent practicing as possible. It includes wetsuits and all equipment needed to get you out on the water with warmth and safety paramount.

You won’t believe how easy windsurfing is to learn. With

success. By the end of the course you’ll be windsurfing back
and forth AND turning round!

Windsurf Improver - 3 Hours £79
Once you’ve mastered the basics the next stage is to improve
and develop your skills. Using Fast Forward coaching techniques
we will give you the building blocks for future improvement.
The kit
We provide the latest style improvers boards and have a choice
of rigs to suit the conditions on the day. Alternatively bring your
own kit and learn how to rig your sail and get the most from it.
The myths
Those straps on the board aren’t carrying handles! Let us show
you how to use them and get you flying around on the water.
Content
Trim, balance, stance, vision and power. Planing, harnesses,
footstraps, faster tacks and non planing gybes.
The result
With expert tuition you will start to see massive leaps and
bounds in your skills at this level. They’ll be no holding you back
after this course!

Jem's new school approach to coaching has been developed from ten years working at schools internationally. His coaching-styled tuition technique is designed to get results fast and boost your windsurfing skills beyond your expectation. We have worked with Jem for a long time and he is part of our windsurfing team and Wittering is his local venue. 8th, 9th or 10th May JUMP and Join the Forward LOOP club
A one day, rollover course for competent strong wind sailors used to open seas with some courage and desire! Ideal for those looking to improve jumps, going for or improving loops. Cost: £120 per person for up to 6 people.
21st and 22nd May Ultimate intermediate boost and fundementals
A 2 day course for those who are just planing and either just in foot straps or very close to it. Jem will look at stance, tacking and gybing. The course will run in all conditions. Cost: £220 per person for up to 6 people

JIM COLLIS
Jim has been working for Club Vass for a long time as one of their top coaches, he was also heavily involved in the launch of the RYA’s fast forward scheme. Jim is now an RYA trainer and has developed his own successful coaching style and is running courses in the UK and abroad. Also he is an official tester for Windsurf magazine. Saturday 20th June - Tweak & Tune Your Sailing
If you want to tune up your sailing for the summer and can’t fit in or afford a clinic abroad, why not stay in the UK!
Jim Collis will be tweaking and tuning at West Wittering on Saturday 20th June Jim will work with you on anything from getting into your footstraps and harness through to waterstarts and carve gybes.
Min ability: planing out of the footstraps on a 150 litre board

The original 'super-guru' and West Wittering local, is bringing his unique brand of coaching magic down to WW this spring! Peter is running three seperate courses (details below):
17th April 2009 - Gybe!
The carve gybe remains the Holy Grail - but the reason it eludes so many is that they can't nail a gybe of any sort. In the this course we look at the move in its many forms and above all focus on those key elements that mess up all gybes, how you address the rig, the timing, the rig and foot change, all of which can and should be perfected in non planing winds. You will be guests of 2XS the marvelous West Wittering windsurfing club and will have access to all the facilities.

planing in the harness on a sub 150 ltr board

22nd, 23rd, 24th April 2009 (rollover) - JUMP & LOOP
"The way to loop is to treat it like any other manoeuvre. You build up to it and make sure you have all the pieces of the jigsaw before trying to put it together. If you think the loop is still a long way off, it's still worth coming as you'll improve your jumps and discover what kind of jump makes the best platform from which to dip into one."
For those who are nearly there, the cauldron atmosphere of the one day course often provides the focus and incentrive to make you finally pull the trigger.
Standard: confident sea sailor and able to jump a sub 100 litre board
Price: £120 You need wind to loop. Peter will call the course 48 hours in advance. In the event of no wind you will be refunded.
6th & 7th May 2009 - General Skills Make-Over
If you're struggling to nail a specific move or are just a bit despondent at your general lack of progress, the root causes are usually the same. So on this day course Harty, the 'guru's guru', will take a holistic look at your windsurfing and address the details that will make a huge long term difference to your sailing. You can ask him to address a particular skill or you can just ask him to have a look and make you better! Whichever, you WILL emerge a better player! It all takes place in that paradise they call West Wittering.

Private Lessons - £35/hr exc kit/£55 inc kit
Need some individual attention? One-to-one lessons with an
experienced instructor are great for adults and children alike.
From complete beginner to advanced level.

Family Windsurf - 5 hours from £120
Get everyone out on the water with our family lessons. Based
on our Learn to Windsurf course (as above) but just for family or
friends. A great experience for you all to enjoy together. To
ensure everyone gets the best out of these courses children
should be age 8 upwards. Different teaching techniques are
required for younger children who are best taught in smaller
groups or 1:1.
We have many instructional DVD's that are suitable for pre or apres course viewing for beginners through to advanced windsurfers. This is what we would recomend.
