This is it. The latest and greatest evolution from Goya’s two world champions Marcilio Browne and Francisco Goya. The Custom 4 Pro is the ultimate pro model wave board, straight from their board bag to yours, a custom performance board put into production. Carry- ing the MB initials for a reason.

Description

Goya Custom 4 Pro – Surfwave Quad

The Custom 4 Quad has had some real changes – the width’s have increased and dimensions changed so it is more true to volume/width than the 2018/19 model.  It is a wave riding and jumping machine, super loose on a wave face and powers through the chop with the new hull shape.  We have an 89 Custom 4 at 2XS, West Wittering available for testing.

This is it. The latest and greatest evolution from Goya’s two world champions Marcilio Browne and Francisco Goya. The Custom 4 Pro is the ultimate pro model wave board, straight from their board bag to yours, a custom performance board put into production. Carry- ing the MB initials for a reason.

These all new Quads slightly grew in width at the mid sec- tion and received a bit more area for the back foot while maintaining their lengths. The profile has been thinned, compared to the last generation. Although the rockers share the same overall curve from the previous model, the all new Custom 4 Pro line incorporates a more defined surfboard rocker, with a lower entry and higher tail.

This shift in the rocker allows them to better fit into the curve of the waves while still maintaining early planing and carry speed into the turns. The bottom features a slightly shallower double concave, making the board fast and direct. A nice feature update comes with the double inserts for the back strap, eliminating strap twisting, period.

Inspired by the Goya Youth development, a new 60 liter model has been added. Goya felt they had to make their favorite boards available to the growing youth. This new shape includes a narrower stance and further back mast track position to better balance the lighter/smaller advanced and professional riders.

Available in 60, 68, 74, 79, 84, 89, 94, 104, 114 litres. Neon yellow & pink on metallic gold.

This is a truly special waveboard. I have sailed a lot different wave boards of all shapes and size. Normally it takes me a few sessions to get used to the way it turns etc. That’s simply not the case with this. A friend of mine let me have a go on his 84 – I literally did one run and went straight in and got on the phone to 2XS to order one. I have just come back from my first session – a classic autumn Witterings day with fun size waves and fairly side-shore wind. In short, I couldn’t take the smile off my face.

On the way out, the board seems to smooth out the chop with no chance of catching the nose on any whitewater giving you an absolute tonne of time to find your ramp at full speed.

Riding is where it truly comes into its own. The rail bite on the bottom turn (especially the second half where you are all twisted up in onshore conditions) is immense. It lets you get the really tight turns you sometimes need to reach the lip in smaller windswell. Off the top, it’s really forgiving and easy to read, letting you either grip off the tail to cut back or release and slide – simply incredible.

Get down to West Wittering and give it a try – you won’t be disappointed.
