Holly Bassett (15) will be representing TEAM GB in the womens surf division she will be traveling to Nicaragua at the end of April for the ISA World SUP championships.
We are all very excited for her as she earned her place in becoming BSUPA Womens and Junior girls National SUP WAVE Champion in Watergate Bay in October 2013.
If that was not a big enough task she is also taking her GSEs at the same time and has to leave the comp 2 days early unless she wins, to start her exams at Seaford College.
She has been putting in the training at Nuffield Health club in Chichester with The fitness training GURU Caroline Taylor. Nik Baker from K66 and Craig From Fanatic have supported her with two very nice Fanatics 8.00 and 7.11 Pro Waves, Kialoa International through Wouter at Seasprite have sent her some pimp Kialoa Pipes paddles and Ion again through Nik Baker have supported her with wetsuits. 2XS, X-Train, Prosport sunscreen have dealt with the costs of getting her and her personal board caddy, coach, photographer and Dad Simon Bassett to Nicaragua. We even had a new TEAM GB Logo created by Claire Frawley of Hurricane Creative. Neal Gent (ex British Wave SUP Champ) and Adrian Howell (ex BLU Masters Longboard Champ) have both been helping Holly with Competition tactics.
