Kitesurfing with Stu Mahoney @2XS, West Wittering

Hi, I’m Stu and I’m the BKSA Senior kite instructor here at 2XS.

As we await the fresh new season to start (and hopefully a windy one) I would like to take the time to introduce myself to the new members amoung you and for the club stalwarts bear with me..

This will be my 6th season kitesurfing at West Wittering  beach, it will also be my 8th year instructing. Learning my trade in NZ, travelling and teaching across the globe whilst trying to also hold down a full time job in the UK.

So how did I end up at West Wittering?… Well, because it’s awesome! And a truly world class location to learn and ride. Seriously though, on it’s day this place rocks, and competes with some of the best kite spots in the world!

Previously you would see my yellow and black T5 camped up and parked at the end of the beach drive, and now I have moved to a property a stones throw from where I parked. This is now a place I am proud to call home.

On the beach you’ll see me instructing, normally sporting a fetching floppy hat that houses our BB TALKIN headset. This is an awesome bit of kit which accelerates learning and development.

On the water you will see me cutting some freestyle shapes on my stealthy black Ozone Enduro V2 and putting Ozone’s new board line through their paces.Keeping it fresh on lighter wind days I will be mastering the art of riding the waves on the JP surf kiteboard. This year you can have a giggle at me as I go back to beginner status and learn the new craze of foiling with and without kite.

At 2XS this year we are looking to develop coaching sessions for jumping and intermediate tricks to finally tick your BKSA level 3 card. Watch this space…!

So that’s a little bit about me, always happy to chat for any kite issues you have.

*Stu is available for private lessons: beginner’s to advanced kite coaching. Please contact the beach office for more info or visit our kitesurf private lesson booking page on our website.
